*IMPORTANT NOTE*

You cannot have your cat suspect what Lightenedcall is up to. Only Fellstar, Wandernight and their kits know her true nature, or her plan. All other cats may not be fond of her, but they cannot suspect that she is crazy, or framing Wandernight, or be worried about her sanity, all they think is that she is grieving for her lost kit, and that she is just another clanmate, nothing to be worried about.

Please do not make your cat assume otherwise, I know it is hard not to, but it is extremely important to the storyline, Thank-you

And The Second Falls

Ebonypaw smiled, though her heart ached. Today she would become a warrior! She wondered what her name would be. Maybe Ebonyfall, or Ebonybreeze. She shook with excitement as she padded into the forest. She wanted to hunt one last time as an apprentice.

She sniffed the air, thinking about Ivorypaw. She should have been here to become a warrior too, but there had still been no sign of Ivorypaw since Lightenedcall had attacked her. After they confronted the cold she-cat, Lightenedcall had minded her own business, staying out of the way. It bothered Ebonypaw and her parents, but they could do nothing about it. She heard a thump beside her, and flicked her ears, turning her head. She purred.

"Finnick."

She almost breathed his name, not daring to say it louder. The tom smiled.

"So today you're becoming a warrior?"

Ebonypaw ducked her head shyly.

"Yes. It's taken me longer because I'm blind. But finally, I can be a warrior."

Finnick smiled.

"I'm happy for you."

Ebonypaw smiled mischievously.

"Not for us? I can come out of the camp freely when I'm a warrior."

She butted him lightly with her head, and he purred. She rolled her eyes.

"Come on! I want to hunt. Stay out of sight, in case anyone comes."

He nodded, and leaped back into the trees. Ebonypaw sniffed the air again, though she was slightly distracted by Finnick's scent. She finally smelled a robin by river. She crouched down low, weaving herself among the trees and underbrush carefully, using her other heightened senses to guide her. She pounced, and there was a cut of chirp as she quickly killed the robin. She smiled, and padded to the side of the river to wash the scent off her mouth. She felt someone grab her scruff harshly. She gasped as she was yanked backwards, her air cut off. She was thrown across the pebbly surface, scraping her skin. She struggled to her feet when she heard a hiss. Claws raked across her face, and Lightenedcall's damp scent hit her. She must have been hiding in the river! Ebonypaw struggled to regain her senses, but Lightenedcall kept clubbing her ears, making her dizzy. Ebonypaw backed up, disoriented. She could almost hear Lightenedcall's gloating sneer.

"Now you'll die, like your sister and brothers."

Ebonypaw shook her head, and tried to run, but Lightenedcall was too fast. The she-cat grabbed Ebonypaw's scruff and threw her. Ebonypaw was small for her age, thus easier to lift. Ebonypaw yowled soundlessly as something clamped onto her back leg. She thrashed, scratching at the trap. The trap tightened every time she moved, and she couldn't feel her leg. Lightenedcall growled, and slashed at Ebonypaw again. She white she-cat put her paw over Ebonypaw's throat, pinning her down. The apprentice gasped for air, her sightless eyes wide in terror. Lightenedcall smirked, wanting it to be a slow, painful death.

Before she knew what was happening, she felt a weight hit her side. As Lightenedcall was thrown off, Ebonypaw gasped for her to fill her strangled lungs. She flashed between consciousness and unconsciousness. But she heard the deep hisses of another cat. Finnick.

Finnick lashed out at Lightenedcall. She was stunned for a moment as the unknown cat attacked her. His green eyes were dark with fury, and he attacked savagely. Lightenedcall quickly regained herself and leaped at Finnick's throat. he sidestepped, scraping his claws across her side. He was trained in the arts of battle. His group had studied the clans, learning their moves. They then learned how to avoid those moves and use them as their own. They were trained to kill. To kill the clan cats. Finnick snarled, his voice unknown to Ebonypaw.

"How dare you lay a claw on her! I should kill you! But no. It would be more painful for me to haunt you for the rest of your life. I'd watch your back when you're alone."

Finnick snarled, biting deep into Lightenedcall's shoulder. She slashed back, scoring deep scars onto his neck. But she knew she wouldn't win this battle today, so she ran. Finnick breathed heavily, his eyes clearing up again. He looked at Ebonypaw, she was very still. He ran to her, looking at her face. Her eyes opened and closed every few seconds. The trap was deeply embedded into her leg, but he knew how to get out of traps. He looked around, then quickly dug up the stake that held her. He heard her breathe a small sigh of relief as the pressure left her leg. She was still in deep pain though, from the trap and the wounds Lightenedcall inflicted on her. he buried his head into her neck.

"Don't worry. Just... don't die. I'll get you help."

He shook as panic started to overcome him. She had lost a great deal of blood, and he needed to get her back to her clan as soon as possible. He grabbed her gently by the scruff, and tried to drag her as carefully as possible to the camp. He laid her down outside the entrance, hesitating. Should he show himself? No. He couldn't let them know who he was. He licked Ebonypaw's cheek, then yowled. Finnick then quickly ran up a nearby tree. he climbed as high as he could, but with still being able to see what was happening, without being seen himself.

Finnick saw the leader, Fellstar run out of the camp. The scent of blood and his yowl would have alarmed them. Fellstar stopped dead. He knew that scent that was mixed with the blood.

"Ebonypaw!"

He nuzzled his daughter, who was breathing ever so slightly. He grabbed her scruff and hurried into the camp. Wandernight stood nearby, her eyes overcome with sorrow. She couldn't move. Her only daughter had been taken straight to the medicine cat den. Why didn't she go in? Wandernight would never know why. She saw Fellstar walk out, though he couldn't see their daughter's wounds, he knew just as much as everyone else that they were bad. He padded to Wandernight, using her fear scent to guide him. He nuzzled her.

"They'll do everything they can to save her. It's her leg that they are worried about the most..."

Wandernight shook her head, and finally the sorrow hit her. She wept mournfully. Did her life have to be filled with so much pain?

"W-what happened?"

Fellstar shook his head.

"It looks like she was caught in a trap, though there are claw marks on her..."

Wandernight shuddered, and one name entered her mind. Lightenedcall.

Finnick watched and waited. He left the tree only to eat and drink, other then that he sat guard over the camp. He watched as the clan mourned together, but still continued with life. Fellstar and Wandernight sat in a shadowed spot together, waiting. A little while later, he saw Lightenedcall pad into the camp, her mouth full with prey. She had cleverly washed the blood off her, and parted her fur delicately over the claw marks. He bared his teeth. This cat had to be killed, or punished severely... He shook his head, and continued to watch. I'll fight for you Ebonypaw. I will.

Striker helped the tabby she cat get to her paws, she was leaning heavily against him, and her front paw was hung limply in front of her. Frustrated, and with a look of deep consentrated, she looked at the paw, snarling loudly. "Striker. It. Won't. MOVE."

Striker shook his head, wishing he could help her, but he knew. Ever since the day she had arived so many moons ago. A deep gash lined her paw, a reminder of what had happened to her. And now, moons later, she still couldn't move it, let alone walk with it. Yet, she still intended to return to those evil clan cats. Even though one of her supposed "clanmates" had tried to kill her.

The clan cats wouldn't accept her now. They were too superficial, selfish, and good for nothing. Especially JayClan. They had been running from them for years, and finally the brutal oafs had left them alone. Sometimes he wondered how the dedicated, sweet tabby cat, staring intently at her limp paw, her eyes narrow slits of concentration, was decended from them. It was unthinkable.

"It hasn't moved for moons." he looked at her, true sadness in his eyes, he licked her cheek, and even though she was upset, a purr rumbled in her chest, though it quickly faded. "Striker... it will. It HAS to, how am I going to be a WARRIOR?" tears began to fill her silvery-blue eyes, and Striker licked her ear, trying to soothe her "You can stay with me." he muttered, knowing the answer.

She shook her head "Striker... I-i love you, with all I'm worth. And these moons, this time with you has been the best moments of my life... but... I can't. My sister, I told you about her right? Well, we were like, really close, and I can't stand the thought of her... thinking I was dead. I still want to see you." she nuzzled him "But I need my clan too."

Striker smiled "I don't understand... but that's what I like about you. Go ahead, you remember how to walk right?"

The beautiful she-cat shook her head indignantly "Of course, I only fell like, twenty times right?" she took a quick step with one front paw, followed by the other to to balance her. Her left front paw was still hanging, limp and useless. And though the gash would heal, the nerves wouldn't. Her world had been ruined, and Striker swore to StarryClan, or whatever the clans believed in, that they would pay. Oh yes, that cat would pay.

"Are you COMING?" Ivorypaw growled at him, already making her way across the log. "Just until I reach camp? I could use..." she lowered her voice, like what she was about to say was te worst thing in the world "help."

Striker smiled, letting Ivorypaw lean against him "Anything for you."

*Wandernight got up and padded away from Fellstar, needing to be alone. She had seen Lightenedcall walk into camp. She had faked astonishment when the clan told her what had happened. She mewed her sorrow, and had ever offered to bring Ebonypaw some prey. Wandernight had leaped up then, snarling at Lightenedcall.*

No. You don't need to bring her anything. You can relax.

*She narrowed her eyes, her teeth slightly bared in a snarl. She snatched the piece of prey that Lightenedcall had picked up. It was one of the ones she had brought in, and Wandernight didn't trust them at all. She had lashed her tail angrily and outside the medicine cat den had hidden it, so she could destroy it later on. She had instead grabbed another piece of prey, and padded in to see her daughter.

Now, her thoughts weighed down by sorrow, she padded out of the camp.*

Ivorypaw scented the air, they were getting close! She could smell home already. Oh, how she's missed home. She looked over at Striker, remembering the scared little kit she had met on that day, now his long snow-white fur, dotted with gray was now loosing it's kit fluff, and he was so amazing... so right. She didn't ever want to leave him.

Shaking her head, a familier scent reached her. Wandernight! She was close, that means they were close to camp, her mother must have padded out of camp for a bit. "Hide." she hissed to Striker, and leaned up against a tree, taking in her home... it all seemed different... but home all the same. "Mom!" she cried out, hoping she could be heard

Wandernight's head snapped up. She narrowed her eyes. A unusual scent came to her, and she didn't recognize the voice.

"Who's there!?"

:~~Wandernight:

(Ivory would smell diff cause of being away fro so long, and sound different from becoming older xD )

(yaaa :P)

Ivorypaw's eyes widened, it wasn't surprising for her mother not to recognize her, she was older. A lot older. "Mom!" she cried, almost frantically "It's me. Ivorypaw!"

Wandernight stood still. The word "mom" registered in her head for the first time. Before she had only heard a voice, no words.

"I-ivorypaw..."

She padded to the voice, and stopped a little ways from ivorypaw.

Tears filled Ivorypaw's eyes when she saw her mother. She managed to limp toward her, smiling. "I-i missed you." she looked away, "I had to..." she looked down at her paw "recover before I came back and... I was scared."

Wandernight stared at Ivorypaw.

"Is it really you? I can't believe it... after what jsut happened to Ebo-"

Ivorypaw froze "What?! What happened to Ebonypaw?!" was she too late? Had Lightenedcall... no. she couldn't

She looked at Ivorypaw.

"Do you need help?"

Ivorypaw shook her head "I've got a system, just... gotta perfect it." she smiled at her mother "I can't believe it." then her expression darkened, and she tried to limp faster "Can we see Ebonypaw?"

Wandernight nodded slightly.

"Don't strain yourself. What happened?"

Wandernight narrowed her eyes slightly, but only nodded. Soon, they were at the camp. Wandernight took a deep breath and padded in, signalling Ivorypaw to follow.

"Fellstar. Someone's back."

She kept her eyes on Lightenedcall who looked over.

:~~Wandernight:

Fellstar sniffed, looking in the diretion Wandernight's voice had come from. There was a strange scent, but it was ever-so-slightly familier... could it be?

"Wandernight... it couldn't be?"

~-~Fellstar~-~

Lightenedcall hissed, nursing the wounds that stupid rogue had given her, then she saw a much older tabby she-cat... Ivorypaw... it had to be. How had she survived... couldn't they just stay DEAD for once. Oh... this made life too complicated, and a lot harder. Well, she could deal with Ebonypaw first. She was in a more fragile state, THEN deal with the one that had come back.

~-~Lightenedcall~-~

Wandernight smiled slightly.

"It's Ivorypaw."

She brushed her tail lightly down Ivorypaw's back, and her eyes shot to Lightenedcall.

"She wants to see Ebonypaw."

Lightenedcall bared her teeth at Wandernight and padded out of camp.

~-~Lightenedcall~-~

Fellstar felt as if the whole world was lifted off her shoulders "Ivorypaw." he ran and nuzzled her, then heard her whimper in pain and stumble back "Uh dad.... I have a problem with my paw. I'll be going to see Ebonypaw, mom, you can tell dad." he heard heavy pawsteps going toward the medicine cat den. "Wandernight?"

~-~Fellstar~-~

Ivorypaw padded into the medicine cat den and gasped, seeing her sister, he back leg looked hurt! She rushed over to her "Ebonypaw!"

~-~Ivorypaw~-~

☪Dream said...

Wandernight sighed.

"She can't use her front paw. So she can only use three legs. She got caught in a trap by the way she described it. It's useless to her now."

Wandernight closed her eyes.

"We have to protect them... Lightenedcall can't hurt them again. If Ebonypaw even lives... What can we do?"

:~~Wandernight:

Ebonypaw heard a voice in the distance, but the pain was still too great. That's the only thing she seemed able to focus on. She couldn't feel her back leg at all, but there was deep pain shooting from it. She twitched, a small sound coming from her.

:~~Ebonypaw:

✠Ember✠ said...

Ivorypaw's heart sunk "N-no! Ebonypaw!" she nuzzled her sister "Wake up!" a closer look at ber back leg, it was really bad. "Has a medicine cat even attended to you?!" she hissed, outraged "Ebonypaw...please," tears rolled down her fur, dropping onto the floor.

~-~Ivorypaw~-~

Fellstar nodded "We need to find a way to keep her out. For GOOD."

~-~Fellstar~-~

She heard the yowl and ran to the medicine cat den, hoping Fellstar was following.

Wandernight shook.

"I-i can't do this."

:~~Wandernight:

Ebonypaw smelled a familiar scent float to her. She immediately relaxed.

:~~Ebonypaw:

Finnick had heard Ebonypaw's yowl, and dared to come as close to the come as he could. He was still looking over the camp, but trying to get a view of where the scent of herbs and sickness floated to him.

:~~Finnick:

✠Ember✠ said...

Struggling to her feet, Ivorypaw winced, her legs aching. She glared at her mother rushing over to Ebonypaw "Ebonypaw, calm down... deep breaths. See, I'm back... I'm here!" she nudges her sister gently "I'm never leaving again."

~-~Ivorypaw~-~

From his hiding place, Striker heard a commotion coming from camp. He wanted to run in, see wahat was going on... but this was a clan. Something he was taught to fear since birth.

but what if she's in trouble? a thought nagged at him, but he rushed as close to camp as he could, prepared to sprint in at the first sign of trouble.

~-~Striker~-~

☪Dream said...

Ebonypaw looked at Ivorypaw, her eyes confused. She breathed in the scents around her deeply. The scents of the clan. Lightenedcall's scent hit her and she winced, starting to shake.

"W-what h-happened."

:~~Ebonypaw:

✠Ember✠ said...

"Well, where do I start?!" Ivorypaw mewed, holding up her paw wearily "Me dying? Me coming back? Or you getting hurt?"

~-~Ivorypaw~-~

Soon, Striker scented another cat. Not a clan cat... worse. "W-whose there?" he hissed out into the forest.

~-~Striker~-~

☪Dream said...

"Y-you never died though."

:~~Ebonypaw:

Finnick stiffened. He was so focused on Ebonypaw that he hadn't realized that he wasn't alone. he looked down to see the flash of a white pelt. He narrowed his eyes, his claws digging into the branch he was on. He was trained to attack any cat that wasn't from his own group. He padded carefully along the branches away, hoping his noisy exit would make the cat follow.

:~~Finnick:

✠Ember✠ said...

"I thought a did... it was terrifying. All black. No StarClan... no nothing. Just empty." she shook her head "Then I woke up with-" she coughed "Alone, scared."

~-~Ivorypaw~-~

Narrowing his eyes, he heard the cat move. He had been trained to hide, move unseen, to be invisible. But he was in no way a stranger to fighting. In the Fallen, you had to learn, or else you wouldn't last long. He waited until the cat had moved a distance away, he rolled in a patch of mud and set catmint leave where he had been with Ivorypaw. Then silently, cautiously, he crept around the tree trunk, his white pelt hopefully comoflauged well enough. Then, he persued the cat.

~-~Striker~-~

☪Dream said...

Finnick kept tabs on the cat below him. His ears flicking at the slightest sound. When he was far enough from the camp he leaped down from the trees.*

:~~Finnick:

✠Ember✠ said...

Striker growled, this as getting frustrating. This rogue was a threat to Ivorypaw "Who are you?!" he hissed to the seemingly empty forest "If your working with Lightenedcall, I swear, on my life, that you will die a SLOW, and Painful death." he continues to follow the way the rougu had gone, slinking into a shadowy part of the forest, able to remain invisible there.

~-~Striker~-~

☪Dream said...

Finnick smirked. He knew the group that this cat came from. Finnick stayed where he was, listening intently.

"Why don't you face me yourself, coward."

:~~Finnick:

✠Ember✠ said...

Striker flinched, he knew hed recognized this cat. "I think you know exactly why. Now tell me, what do you want from JayClan." he hissed, remaning in the darkness, where he was at an advantage. Even the small bit of dark was able to strengthen his other senses, even with only little light obscuring his vision.

~-~Striker~-~

☪Dream said...

Finnick let out a low laugh.

"Ya. I do know why. Because your whole life is filled with cowardice and sneaking around. Cheating. I don't need to answer anything until you come out."

He flicked his ears backward.

:~~Finnick:

✠Ember✠ said...

"Better than being a cold-hearted killer!" Striker hissed "What, were you trying to do? Pick off the injured ones first right?!" he emerged half-way from the shade, glaring at the cat, thinking of Ivorypaw and unsheathing his claws "If you lay ONE paw on her rogue, I swear. You won't get that paw back."

~-~Striker~-~

✠Ember✠ said...

"Your too thick to have feelings anyway. Well, if you weren't going to murder her, then who? Maybe the kits, or the queens. Hey, what about the leaders kits, THAT would be a good idea." he stepped out a little further "I'm sure you'd love killing this one cat. Ivorypaw's sister... who was she again?" he searched his mind... Ivorypaw had told him that they were opposites... Ivory and... "Ebonypaw. She's blind. Easy target right? Isn't that what your taught to pick off first?!" he hissed

~-~Striker~-~

Finnick arched his back and snarled. He leaped at Striker, pinning him down.

"I'd shut your mouth, coward."

:~~Finnick:

He struggled free, leaping onto Finnick and scoring his flank, his adrenaline racing, he felt braver then ever "I'm sure your group would love to hear that. He would never wish the fate of that upon anyone, even a cat stupid enough to befriend a murderer.

~-~Striker~-~

"She's told me everything."
