*Fellstar waited for the clan to gather*
"Leafdew had a very special announcement to make."
*Fellstar stepped back and Leafdew stepped out of the crowd*

"Cats of JayClan, as you know I will not be around forever. So it is time I took on an apprentice. I chose a cat with a strong interest in herbs and faith to StarClan. Your medicine cat apprentice will be... Berrypaw!,"
*Leafdew stepped down and Fellstar turned the attention back on him.*
"Berrypaw, do you except the role of Medicine cat apprentice?"
Berrypaw smiled "I do Fellstar."
"Then at half-moon, you and Leafdew must travel the the Moon_____ to be accepted by StarClan." Fellstar mewed "May StarClan light your path."
*Berrypaw and Leafdew touch noses*
Fellstar smiled "We also have a warrior ceremony! Baypaw step forward,
I, Fellstar, leader of JayClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice, she has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Baypaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code, even at the cost of your life?"
Baypaw's eyes were shining as she replied "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name! Baypaw, from now on you will be known as Bayfrost, StarClan honors your open heart and dedication and we welcome you as a full warrior of JayClan."
He rested his muzzle on Bayfrost's head and she licked his shoulder. Fellstar smiled at the young warrior. She had been only eight moons when she joined and he had treated her like a daughter and Wandernight had mentored her well.
"Congradulations." he purred and she nodded her eyes shining
"Thank-you Fellstar."

She looked at Bayfrost and ran off into the medicine cat den, she couldn't find Leafdew so she grabbed the herbs that she thought she needed and ran to the nursery.

"Can we help?" They blinked, worried for their sister.

"Yes, umm get me some wet moss. Dizzysong you get me a thick and nice branch for Softsoul to bite on." She nodded for them to go, trying to remember what to do next.

"I need help! I don;t know what to do after this!" She howled for help, she was barley 7 moons, was she expected to deliver the kits?!

Bayfrost ran over "Um. I think you need to push Softsoul, and uh, Berrypaw nip the sac and uh lick it until it's fur is clean. Um... I think? I don't know the herbs."

*Wandernight sighed, grabbed a thrush from the fresh-kill pile and padded back to the Leader's Den.*

Fellstar sighed "I'm sorry Wandernight. As soon as things calm down then we can go back to normal. How are the kit's cuts healing. Will any have scars?"

*Wandernight sniffed the cuts.*
The deeper ones will leave scars. But their fur may cover must of it. Ebonykit's ears won't heal, of course.

Fellstar sighed "I truely can't believe this." he smiled at the kits trying to believe everything will be ok.

"What Lightenedcall did, she was a good friend before..." he sighed

*Wandernight shook her head.*
She probably thought you as more then a friend. and may have thought you did too.

"No this was before the disaster, when we were apprentices. She would hang around, like one of the toms."

One of the toms? There were she-cats in the apprentices den at the same time too. I'm a tom now, am I?

"No. I meant she wasn't obsessed with whatever tom she liked. Not saying YOU were, she just hung around with us more. I didn't get to know you better until late apprenticeship."

*Wandernight nodded.*

Fellstar laughed. "So should the kits open their eyes soon?"

Ivorykit opened her eyes blinking a few times. She remained quiet taking in the den. She looked back at her tail, long scars were etched in there, plainly visable. She squeaked in surprise, wondering how they got there. All she remembered was taking her first breath, then burning pain.

*Ebonykit opened her eyes. They were a stunning blue. She looked around, but only saw darkness.*
:~~Ebonykit:
Ivorykit's stormy gray eyes found Ebonykit's "Ebonykit. Doesn't everything look amazing?!" she squeaked beaming

*Ebonykit turned quickly to where Ivorykit's voice shot into her ears. She tilted her head.*

*Wandernight had been watching Quiverkit as he slept, but now her attention was riveted at Ivorykit and Ebonykit. Ivorykit's question seemed so innocent. But it was Ebonykit's response that worried her.*

"Well, all the colors, and your black and white fur and my silver fur!"

*Ebonykit nodded, starting to shake.*

*Wandernight snarled, and took a step towards Lightenedcall.*

Fellstar hissed "Lightenedcall leave NOW. You and I both know Wandernight didn't kill either Hailkit or our, Wandernight and mine, kit."

She closed her eyes as the white she cat lunged quickly, slamming her with her paw sending her flying across the den, hitting the wall and slumping to the ground
The white she-cat licked the fur down on her paw acting as if nothing happened

*Wandernight snarled and leaped at Lightenedcall, pinning her down.*
How dare you!
*She snarled, digging her claws in slightly before flashing a cold glance at Lightenedcall. Then she leaped away and ran to Ivorykit.*

You hurt my sister!

Fellstar stepped in front of Lightenedcall to protect Ebonykit and Quiverkit. "You will not touch her."
Lightenedcall hissed "One day. All those kits WILL be dead!" she hissed then ran out of the den

Ivorykit squeaked "My tail wasn't just like this!?" she sobbed "Now I'm stuck looking like a freak for the rest of my life! No kit has scars! I doubt any warriors were born with scars this deep!!"

Ebonykit and Quiverkit have cuts too. You don't look like a freak. You're lucky these cuts didn't cause serious damage. Some scars can't be undone. Like death.

Who will be Ebonykit's mentor? Who can teach her how to work efficiently with her vision? Only you can Fellstar. I think you should be her mentor, but other's won't like it.

"I know. She's my daughter. People will accuse me of favoring. But what about Ivorykit?! Surely it would be stretching it having you as her mentor..." then his eyes brightened "Bayfrost! What aout Quiverkit though?"

They should understand if you are her mentor, since you are both blind. Bayfrost sounds good. She doesn't seem to believe Lightenedcall. For Quiverkit, we need someone who doesn't hate me like most of the clan seems to currently.

Fellstar nodded "But out kits can play like normal kits, they can't enjoy the sun, lay in it a doze. All the highlights of when we were kits."

Fellstar took one step toward her "You. Will. NOT. Ever. Say. That." he almost growled at her "I love you kits. I love your mother. I love my territory. I ENJOY life. I can't see any of it. You will drop that bad attitude RIGHT NOW, you here me?"

"I was fine with being blind Wandernight. I didn't care. My mother told me what was happening and described everything to me. I have wanted to see, but I NEVER had a bad attitude about it, I didn't when I knew you and I don't now. Ebonykit needs to face it like it is or she will never come to terms with her disability, therefore, never use her other abilities to have the ability to become a warrior. And you knew I never complained, we were in the same nursery."

She's not you Fellstar. She may not understand. Her sister and brother are able to see, so she doesn't understand why she can't. You don't have to yell at her like she's a disobediant warrior instead of a kit. Who was born a few sun-rises ago.

I know you want to think there is this perfect place. All our kits will become warriors easy. Ebonykit won't Wandernight. She needs to learn to embrace her disability. It is hard, I know that. But she needs to be absolutly DEDICATED to becoming a warrior or she should just give up now."

"She needs to learn to sharpen her senses NOW, when they are youngest, they can have even better senses that most blind cats even, which will make her training FAR easier for her."

"It's not hard training Wandernight. I'll mostly just sit with her on the edge of camp and ask her what she smells or hears and what she imagines it looks like. It taked what... five minutes. Your acting like I'm making her go into battle!"

How can she imaging anything, if she has no idea what anything looks like? She can learn this on her own terms.

"These are my kits too! And You'll be surprised what blind cats can think of. But YOU seeing cats are too SHALLOW MINDED to believe it. And I'll explain to her what my father explained to me about what thinks look like, before I ask her what she thinks it looks like. I've been through this. Do. Not. Undermine. Me."

"Berrypaw, you did a wonderful job. I now am 100% sure you can fill my pawsteps when i am gone. I watched you the entire time. I saw you could do it without me. You didn't need me, you did it right. You can stand calm and alone in a crisis. If I had been there, would you have thought you could do that?" She licked Berrypaw's ear and padded away.

*Wandernight snarled and leaped up. She grabbed Quiverkit's scruff, and set him behind her, where Ebonykit had run after her. Wandernight growled.*

"Wandernight! It's bad enough what you did to Hailkit! Now you can't even be a mother to your kits?" she looks bewildered as she takes in the scene.

"This is something that should NOT happen in a nursery! What is happening here? Kits fighting, Queens fighting?" She shuffled over to her nest nudging her kits with her.
"Aww. Your no fun!" Ivorykit huffed

"Would you and Shrewkit like to join us?" she looked over at her with sympathy.
Fellstar sighed "She's trying to make you look crazy. We'll figure this out, but right now you're only making yourself look worse."

Ivorykit shuffled her paws "I got you in trouble. Sorry mommy."

Ivorykit smiled "Can I go with Ebonykit and Daddy to the sense lessons. I want to improve mine too!"

Hawkfall padded over to Risinglark and sat next to her. "Are you alright? You look a little... depressed."

Sparrowfeather rushed into the nursery, a little belatedly, and stopped. "What is going on? Great StarClan, your yowling woke me up from my nap outside the camp!"

"It's nothing." Fellstar mewed "I'll be taking the kits back into my den. Wandernight, be careful. Come back before the moon comes." He smiled softly at her then took Ebonykit and Ivorykit in his mouth, letting Quiverkit was by himself

" Wait Fellstar!" He blinked at his leader. "Should I be worried about Lightenedcall...she seems, unstable is the best way to put it...." He blinked at his kits and mate wondering about their saftey.

He blinked open his green eyes. He looked at his litter mates.

(I was wondering if I should have one of Softsouls kits should be liked blind, mute, or deaf so that Ebonykit doesn't feel so alone.)
(No please. >.< Em and I have a story-line, and we don't want too many blind cats. >.< )
*Wandernight looked at Blackheart, and shook her head. No matter how much she hated Lightenedcall, she would not say anything bad.*

(And PS. THey arent supposed to suspect Lightenedcall or be worried about her stability, they are supposed to think she is the victim)
Sparrowfeather narrowed her eyes when Fellstar just shrugged off her question and shook her head. 'I doubt it's nothing, but I'll just have to leave it. No cat intends to tell me; I can see that,' she thought and padded over to sit next to Risinglark and Hawkfall.
Hawkfall tipped his head to the side. "Why would that be nothing new? I haven't been here very long. Did something happen?"

He nodded. He looked back at his mate, he hoped that she wouldn't become a target for Wandernights anger.

He looked around and saw the other kits and padded over to them. "Hi!"

"Nothing that I want to get into." Risinglark answered truthfully.

The dark grey tom narrowed his eyes at her. After a pause, he said, "Alright. If you don't want to speak of it, then that's it, I suppose. I was only wondering. I don't like seeing such a seemingly kind cat so depressed, that's all."

Ignorant of the conversation Risinglark and Hawkfall had been having, Sparrowfeather asked, "Do you two want to come hunting with me? Something's amiss here, and I'd rather stay out of it. I don't know who to believe anymore."

"Mama can I play with the other kits?" She looked at her mother.

"Please!"

"Fine. If thats fine with Wandernight..." She gazed at the she-cat warily, ad a bit frightened.

*Wandernight narrowed her eyes.*
I see in your eyes you don't want them near me. I don't want my kits lives to be ruled by suspicions, so thus, they shall not be exposed to it.
*Wandernight wrapped her tail around her three kits, and started to pad away.*

She narrowed her eyes. Unpleasant thoughts raced through her mind.

Her ears fell back. Maybe they just didn't like her...she sat red after the other kits sadly. She padded back to her mother sadly.

*Wandernight ignored Softsoul's eyes.*
Fellstar. you can do your... think with them if you want. Your training, or whatever it was.
*Wandernight flicked her tail back in forth.*
I'm going into the forest. I need some air.

She sighed, she felt bad about being so critical but at the same time she felt wary about Wandernight.

Fellstar smiled "Thank-you Wandernight, but they look tired right now, I'll take them to the den to get sleep."
